Bangladesh has ranked 100th in the 2025 Henley Passport Index, maintaining its position from January this year. With visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to just 38 destinations, the Bangladeshi passport is now the 7th weakest globally, sharing its position with North Korea.
In South Asia, Maldives leads at 56th place, followed by India (85th), Bhutan (92nd), and Sri Lanka (98th). Nepal and Pakistan rank below Bangladesh at 101st and 103rd, respectively.
Globally, Singapore remains at the top with access to 193 destinations, while Afghanistan continues to hold the weakest passport, ranking 106th with only 24 visa-free destinations.
This year marks the first time the United States has fallen out of the top 10, ranking 12th alongside Malaysia. The UK also saw a drop to 8th place, its lowest-ever position in the Henley Index.
